Acrylic on panel, 15 x 20cm plus professionally made tray frame. 

Painting of a local beach on the North Down Coastal Path in Northern Ireland, this mini landscape is painted in hues of lilac, blues and apricot to capture that late spring end-of-day light that arrives after sunset.  

Rocks and Flowers is a particular favourite of mine.  I know the rocky beaches so well and through the year, you turn the corner and they surprise you with a new spray of flowers.  A carpet of lilac buds was the perfect compliment to this light and all the textures in the landscape lent me inspiration to make free marks and enjoy exploring those ways to create 3d in 2d.
