I am based in Boom Studios in Bangor, Co Down.  I use the studio's large workshop for my acrylic painting/other indoor classes, and the studio is often the meeting point for Bangor Sketch Club, which I founded in 2025.

Over the past 3 years, my sketch walk classes have built a beautiful community of artists from different backgrounds and levels of experience.

I am therefore delighted to introduce you to a new format in Bangor Sketch Club, a membership based group with visiting artist tickets available.  These classes are not "taught" as such, although tuition is readily available if required.  Rather, members avail of a calendar of planned, facilitated on-location drawing sessions, social events and field trips, with member newsletters and a great community of like-minded sketchers.

We'll visit coastal, park, architecture, flora & fauna - something different each time will result in a gorgeous artist's journal of your local area whether for fun, painting reference, record keeping or skill practice.

Have you dreamed of creating your own statement artwork, but need the support, space and tools to do so?  Perhaps you want to start painting and just need a one-stop shop to get you started quickly.  Maybe it's a special event for you, or a couple, or friends.. private studio tuition is all about you and completely tailored to your needs.  Prices include consultation, tuition, lunch and professional grade acrylic paint/tools, however please note canvas is not included as the cost will vary depending on your needs - we'll have a chat about that before.

Tuition days involve a tour through composition, colour and mark making theory and techniques as we make the first steps in to your painting project (or a series of smaller themed exercises if you're here to practice the skills rather than make a painting!).  I'll bring in lunch from one of our local shops, we have top quality on the doorstep such as Lightfoot Deli, Little Wing Pizza, Sunflower Sandwich Shop and more.

If your goal is to complete a painting that requires more than one day, you can take it home to finish or I can offer supervised use of the studio, paint and tools at a rate of £100/day (£130 for 2 people) for as many sessions as you need to complete your work.  These days can be arranged ad-hoc according to mutual suitability and won't include the tuition element, although I'll be in there working on admin if you need help/to keep you motivated and reassured.

* 2-person tuition is subject to size of your projects, XL paintings may only facilitate one person per booking.
