A5 original painting, featuring hues of mauve, indigo, blue, yellow and gold, an abstraction of colours and shapes that caught my eye on our local beach. This one specifically is from the strong ripple pattern left by waves in the sand as the tide goes out.
Little glints of gold paint will catch lamplight or changing sun, so this would suit a cosy nook or bright spot in your home (although direct sunlight is never recommended for artworks).
Pre-dinnertime walks with my toddler are so important at this time of year when the light and time are limited, I say walks, but he spends a lot of time digging in the beach river while I hold spades and dinosaurs and admire the wintry sunsets.
Our special beach is Ballyholme in Bangor, Northern Ireland, but I know these colours from my native North Sea Coast in Scotland too, they remind me of new year, possibilities and closing chapters. I invite you to find your own place in them.
