Scene to Studio event selected for Experience Ards & North Down

Good news!

New full-day drawing and landscape painting art class announced in Bangor.

I put in an application for an art class to be included in Visit Ards & North Down's "Experience Ards & North Down" listings.

They wanted brand new, extra-special events, showcasing the best of what's available in our region, so I had to come up with something extra special!  I knew this would fit the bill, and I'm delighted to officially invite you to "Scene to Studio: Painting the Walled Garden".

Date: Saturday 22nd June 2024

Time: 09:00-17:00

Venue: Boom Studios, 80A Main St, Bangor, BT20 5AE

Details: This is a full, catered day for hobbyist to professional artists, who are seeking to spend a day immersed in a start-to-end art practice.  We will be drawing plein-air in the morning, and spending the afternoon in Boom's large studio workshop to create an acrylic painting based on your morning sketches & photos.

Included in the ticket price:

• Tea/coffee and traybake/similar snack on arrival
• Receive a sketching pack, yours to keep, including a sketchbook, pencil, charcoal, accessories and watercolour palette
• A walk to our sketching spot - the Walled Garden in Castle Park
• 2 hours of drawing tuition/guided exercises
• Gourmet focaccia sandwich, salad and bake from Lightfoot Deli
• 4 hours of landscape painting tuition.  Learn the basics of composition, colour theory and mark-making before creating a beautiful painting on canvas to take home.

I promise you'll be well looked after and have an amazing day of creativity!

The morning portion should be safe rain-or-shine, there are sheltered areas in the walled garden but you should come dressed for whatever weather Northern Ireland's summer may have in store for us.  Including waterproofs/hat/suncream!
